The basics are all I need here.
My radio shack has changed dramatically over the years. Today, most of the equipment I use comes from Chinese manufacturers, including Baofeng, TidRadio, and Xiegu, to name a few. Since the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan, the price of Yaesu equipment has risen significantly, with even used models commanding premium prices.

I'm back home, living in Cornwall once again.
Yeah, I'm back on Cornish turf once again. I previously lived in Plymouth for over a decade and spent around six months in Crediton. Although I was born at Treliske Hospital in Truro, I grew up in Pendeen, Gulval, and Penzance, so it's good to be back where I feel most at home.

The Classic Yaesu FT-290R
I am delighted ton have in the radio-shack once again the classic Yaesu FT-290R - 2m FM / LSB / USB / CW Rig. I was speaking to a fellow local radio ham the other day via our local repeater GB3JL and he was mentioning getting onto 2m SSB. Anyway a quick look around...
